Fir Grove House
A private outdoor courtyard overlooking Shuswap Lake is tucked between the main house, a grove of mature fir trees, and the red guest house above. The careful arrangement of buildings on the lot forms a series of protected and intimate outdoor spaces. Fir harvested on site is used throughout the building. Sand from the lot is used in the layered textures of a rammed earth masonry heater. Geothermal energy heats and cools the house.
