Mountain House |

|
Under Construction A courtyard house that provides a platform for enjoying spectacular views across the Bow Valley while sheltering a tranquil indoor/outdoor family space nestled amongst the trees of Banff National Park forest. Green roofs planted with alpine flowers, rain water/ grey water recovery, and a geothermal heat exchange system contribute to an environmentally sustainable approach to building in the mountain Park. The first residential geothermal heat exchange system in Banff National Park draws on latent solar energy deep in the earth to provide all heating, air conditioning, and domestic hot water needs for the house with near zero energy costs and a reduction in green house gas emissions roughly equivalent to planting two acres of trees or taking four cars off of the road. |
